Ravens vs Bengals Post Game Recap

The Ravens won in historic fashion against the Bengals. By doing so they clinched their ticket to the playoffs. Here are my thoughts on the Ravens vs Bengals game from week 17. We analyze all the star players and their performances.

Offense

The Ravens ran for 404 yards. This was a franchise record. The Ravens ended up just a couple of yards short of the all-time mark. This was despite Lamar Jackson being pulled in the final minutes of the third quarter. Jackson ran for 97 yards which did put him over the 1000 yard mark for the second straight year. He is the first quarterback in NFL history to have two 1000 yard rushing seasons. It wasn’t just Jackson who ran well. J.K. Dobbins ran for 160 yards on 13 carries. He also had two rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards were both very effective.

Lamar Jackson was also dominant through the air. He threw three touchdowns and an interception on 18 pass attempts. The interception as well as an incompletion was tipped at the line of scrimmage by Margus Hunt. Marquise Brown dropped a well-thrown deep ball by Jackson, but he did make up for it by catching two touchdowns.

The Ravens scored on every possession which Jackson played, except the interception.

Defense

The Ravens dominated defensively. They only let up a field goal. They intercepted Brandon Allen twice. One of those interceptions was by Marcus Peters who was playing in his first game for a couple of weeks. On the previous play, Peters had been flagged for pass interference. He then jumped the out route on a bad throw and ended the Bengals red zone drive.

Allen only completed 6 of 21 passing attempts. The Bengals went just one of nine on third downs. The Bengals had only 40 offensive plays.

In what was likely his last game for the Bengals, A.J. Green was targeted six times. He didn’t record a reception.

The Ravens outscored the Bengals in both games 65-6.

This is my analysis of the Ravens vs Bengals game from last week.

Sad News

In what was the worst part of the day: Sam Koch did not play in the game because of COVID-19. 239 games. 15 years. Over.
