Super Bowl 55 is here along with our Super Bowl Prop Bets 2021! The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who become the first team in NFL history to play in the Super Bowl at their home stadium.

So many narratives where to begin? I’ll just touch on a few before we get to the good stuff. First off, you have Tom Brady playing in his 10th Super Bowl. Second, you have the Kansas City Chiefs looking to defend their title and go back to back. The last team to win back to back championships was the New England Patriots in Super Bowls 38 and 39. Lastly, Covid-19. We were able to get here despite a season that saw each team deal with weekly and sometimes daily impacts to their rosters. Let’s take a look at our Super Bowl Prop Bets 2021.

Most knowledgeable sports handicappers will focus on the spread and total. However, there are numerous opportunities within the game that anyone can bet on and make the game more enjoyable. Now it’s time to focus on our 3 favorite Prop Bets for Super Bowl 55.

In full disclosure I already have a wager on the Kansas City Chiefs -3, therefore all my picks are correlated to the Chiefs winning and covering.

Patrick Mahomes MVP (-115)

Patrick Mahomes MVP (-115) for Super Bowl 55

As stated, I believe the Chiefs will win the game. In order for that to happen QB Patrick Mahomes will need to be essential in Kansas City’s victory. If Mahomes can remotely come close to his previous performance against Tampa Bay earlier this season, he should easily win the MVP. In week 12 against the Bucs’ all Mahomes did was throw for 462 yards with 3 TDs completing 37 of 49 pass attempts. Mahomes is a previous Super Bowl MVP and has shown he can deliver in big situations. I like the odds, the situation, and the player. Give me Mahomes at only -115 to raise the Pete Rozelle Trophy for the second consecutive year.

Travis Kelce 9+ receptions (+110)

Travis Kelce 9+ receptions (+110) for Super Bowl 55

In the Divisional Round game against the Cleveland Browns Kelce hauled in 8 receptions on 10 targets. Next, Kelce secured 13 of his 15 targets for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship.

Undoubtedly Mahomes will look for his All-Pro TE Todd Kelce often on Sunday. Especially against a Bucs’ defense that allowed 86 receptions (25th) to the TE during the regular season.

In 15 regular season games Kelce only exceeded 9 + receptions in 2 games. However, he did finish with 8 + receptions in 7 regular season games. One of those games was against these Buccaneers in Week 12.

Kelce has already seen 25 targets in the these playoffs. Furthermore he was responsible for 23.7% of all the Chiefs offensive targets during the regular season.

Total Points Scored (50-56) +425

First off, I love this number of +425. It falls directly into my prediction of 52 total points scored on Sunday. In their first meeting this season these two teams combined for 51 points. If either team tacks on a late FG it still stays within the 50-56 point range.

Why Not…

To be clear I never wager on non-football props. However, I would lean orange color Gatorade (+115). The only reason is that it was the color from last year.

Good Luck, and enjoy Super Bowl 55 everyone.
